One Life to Live

One spectacular life to live and what are you going to do with it?

Whenever you hear the term ‘You Only Live Once’ (YOLO), it’s usually used by people to justify their promiscuity, excessive drinking and drug abuse among other vices. I’ve never been able to comprehend that sort of reasoning. You have only one life to live so why spend it making bad decisions?

Why hold grudges? Why do things that aren’t beneficial to you all in the name of “having fun”? Shouldn’t you maximise limited time you have making the right choices knowing that you might never get another chance? Shouldn’t you make a positive mark and clear a path that those coming behind you can follow?

The singular life that we all possess is a gift, a privilege. Tomorrow isn’t promised so make the best of today and I mean THE BEST. Don’t waste time doing the things that don’t matter. Spend your limited time on earth wisely. Life is short but it’s up to you to make it sweet.

Here’s what I’m going to do with my one life.
I’m going to live.
I’m going to love.
I’m going to pursue my dreams with all the fire in me.
I’m going to be the best version of myself that I can be.
I’m going to make the right choices.
I’m going to live for God.
I’m going to make friends.
I’m going to give.
I’m going to forgive.
I’m going to laugh.
I’m going to be happy.
I’m going to live a life with minimal regrets. I’m going to be healthy and wealthy.
I’m going to be a positive influence.
And yes of course, the most important of them all, I’m going to eat whatever I want to eat because I like food.

What are you going to do with your One Life?

  1. This was a poignant look at one’s reason for being… and the arrogance of seeking to thwart such a reason… the only thing one can possibly take on leaving, is what one knows… so one should not only seek to know, but to make that knowledge the most positive possible… jumping of a symbolic cliff into what one does not know, seems not to point to the most positive knowledge possible…
